#39250, "hesitation and not wanting to start sometimes"

Ok, I've been having this on and off problem with the car not wanting to start at times... and during these times, the fuel pump doesn' prime. I've changed the fuel pump relay twice now, and it still does it occasionally. Tonight really pissed me off, because every time I tried to go somewhere, something happened. First off, the motor was making a knocking kind of noise, so I checked it out, and it was just the spark plug loose... no big deal, other than I have no idea how it got loose. Next thing to happen, the next 4 out of 6 times I tried to start my car, it wouldn't. So finally, on my way home, I'm making a turn and going up a hill in 2nd gear, my car begins to hesitate/stop
"pulling" a little off and on rapidly and then my CEL (which is already on for a 12 and 33... bad rollover valve as satan said) starts blinking, 2 or 3 times. I'm flooring it so I can make it up the hill and not hit the car behind me, and then shift into 3rd... all is well. The next stop, and turn, in 2nd it does the same thing, and in part of 3rd.

All of this, not to mention the annoying a$$ whine coming from by belt or pulley, still haven't figured it out yet... kinda gets on one's nerves!
As always, any and all help or pointing in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

*UPDATE*
Ok, I have a problem... I checked my CEL with the keydance and now I have a 43 along with my 12 and 31 (I said it was a 33 in the last post, oops). How can I tell what is the problem? The site with the pcm codes has 6 or 7 different things it could be.
One thing I've noticed about the hesitation, it only hesitates or "misfires" as it seems to be doing now, when I give more than about 1/3 throttle. Idle is a litte rough now, makes my car sound like my friend's WRX w/ M2 exhaust... not cool. Above 1k rpm though, as long as I don't give it too much throttle, no hesitation, but I'm accelerating slower than most grandma's.
Any ideas?

other than your fuel pump problem... most of us would say the same thing. start simple.
check......
plugs & gap
plug wires
vacuum leak
assorted sensors

but if your relay or wiring is bad to your fuel pump, then it probably is all related to that.

by the way. do you have the starting problem with the car cold or hot, or both?

Im having the same problem with my car. I dont have any check engine lights though. Im really thinking that its my fuel filter, but i'll find out in a week or so when i can face the cold and change it. Where is the fuel pump relay located?

driver side firewall in the engine bay. which one it is depends on what options your car has.
