What do you have and about how much did you spend. I am talking about cams, valves, valve springs and retainers, etc, etc. . . I am looking to upgrade the top end of the motor and want to see what anyone that has already do this has to say. I hear some of the Neon guys are using PT Cruiser valve train parts. Any reason why? Do the Neon DOHC engines use the same head and valve parts as us? Thanks a lot guys!!

I am but the car is not. I ordered crane cams #16 (yeah yeah I know, they are not the best for daily driven car, but hey I am about 5 1/4 miles away from my school)
really tho, I just ordered the PT valve train, Crane valve springs, AEM cam gears, new MLS head gasket, timing belt, and I will be sending my head to be milled even more.
I still have not seen the cams, valve springs, nor the cam gears yet tho, I will let you guys know when I finally put them on.
>really tho, I just ordered the >PT valve train, > Why are you using the PT Valve Train and what parts are you using? I want to have the ability to rev to about 8200 rpms, maybe a little less if thats not possible. With the setup you have ordered, would that be possible? What else would have to be done to the engine besides valve train and ECU to safely reach 8000+ rpms in daily driven form? Thanks a lot!

...has updated cam followers and lash adjusters which can properly tolerate continued high rpm use. The stock valvetrain can handle 8500 but not for too long. The PT innards can handle a lot more abuse. When you get them you will see. Personally I will be waiting for the new kit from CNNP

I believe MLS stands for Multi-Layered Steel. I doesn't give you any horse power just helps prevent the always annoying problem of the leaky head gasket.
