i looked in the search engine and didnt really find the answer to my question. But i would like to know how much it would cost to replace my head gasket. My head gasket is leaking oil and the mechanic shop i went to wants to charge me 900 dollars. Is that a good deal or should i take it to the dealer? Is there amy better deals i can get?

900$ for a head gasket eh no, u can buy a manual and ot it yourself man,
should be like 250-300$ to replace head gasket is what id charge..

well im in toledo and im not the best mechanic in the world. i can do the bolt on stuff. like cold air intake. but this i want a mechanic to do. If you guys are close to toledo. That would be great to pay only 200 or 250 for labor. How do i obtain the kits, and how much are they.

Yes this s not a repaiur to be taken lightly and not everyone can do it. At the very least you need a torque wrench, vice grip or big C clamp, and pulley puller to do this. Not everyone owns these. If you are unsure about it or don't feel very comfortable doing these things, then it's best to get some help.
I suggest buuying a servicec manual and seeing teh procedure for your repairs and then decide if you think it's within your ability.

satan in cali wants $800.00 to replace the head gasket. i have 110,000k miles and a little bit of oil showing on the right side right above my header bolts. its not wet/fresh oil though. i dont know when ill get mine done, its been like that for about 30k miles and no probs so far that i can tell. i change my oil ever 3k with full synth. and i keep all fluids/plugs up to maint.

If you don't want to do it yourself (and can't find a board hookup) then expect to pay anywhere from $700-$900. that's what a shop will charge you. I will tell you this though, I was scared about doing it too. I had done bolt on's and all that too, but didn't want to do this. I'm telling you you can do this. You will need to rent a pulley puller from autozone or something ($15 deposit that is refunded) and a torque wrench ($30-50). If you can do bolt on's then you can do this it's just scary. I printed out 2 write ups Had my manuel and had my phone on hand for calling peeps from the board. I got it done in 2 weekends. It's all just bolts and following directions, just like bolt ons, and you have all of us here to help. After the HG I feel ready to do anything this car needs, plus it helps to learn all you can about your motor.
