#38824, "I think my ECU is shot, but is there anyway I can know for sure? help please"

well I just repainted my car, and when I got back the electricals were all messed up. no tail lights, or cluster. anyway, the fucker messed up the one wire that lights all of the above up so I had to rewire everything on my own again, it took me forever but I did it. but once I am done, I tried to start the car and she won't start, she will crank and nothing. the fuses are all good. I noticed that the CEL never comes on anymore, I tried the key dance and nothing happened. so I guessing I fried the ECU, or there is a problem somewhere. can anyone tell me how can I tell if the ECU is getting power ! I mean is there a sign, all the oil lights and other stuff light up, but my AFC is not getting any readings from the TPS. and I think all other sensors as well. so it's either the ECU is not getting power, or it's simply shot.

any help please

thanks

if its an AT, which it probably isn't, but i have an extra ECU if ya need it. it will still work on a MT car except the CEL will stay on and you will redline at 6500. another thing, when jumping an eclipse alot of people ground out on the ecu cause its right next to the battery and its a big chunk of metal. that'll fry it in a hurry.

well I guess I was to tired last night to actually realize that I missed one small plug by the ECU disconnected. I only found that out today in the morning. I Jusat pluged it and she started right up. I can't belive the fucker who painted my car did all that. I had to rewire every singel wire going to all of the lights in my car, oh my god, that was a nightmre. anyway. I guess she is all good now (or at least I hope so)

thanks a lot guys.

juggalo thanks a lot for offering your ECU. what really sucks is no way in hell I can get parts for my car here (the United Arab Emirates) damn I had to get some custom belts, and had to custom make my own fuel filter. now my axles are giving up on me and I just can't think of paying only the shiping charges and the round time to get them done.

by the way guys, I Just bought a chevi Tahoe Z71. this car is hella cool, hell it comes with a TV and DVD. I still have not try its power out tho (breaking in) I can't wait to get a header, intake, and ECU programer for it tho. man I love the sound of V8s, even it's still an SUV, it sounds cool.
