I just installed a Greddy Evo catback and since then i've been noticing a burning smell coming out of the exhaust pipe and somewhere around the side of the car, I haven't been able to target down what might be the cause for this. Also, since Greddy didn't include a set of heat shields for its piping, should I be using the shields that are on my original factory cat-back?

i have the stock exhaust still but if you didn't put any heat sheilds on when you had the chance than your most likely answering your own question, use whatever heat sheilding you can and then see if it made a diffrence

I was thinking of the original factory heat shields, but those things are welded at the seams aswell as screwed with welded nuts, so I called Greddy and they said that the smell is coming from some oil that was used in the mandrel pipes and some fibers from the can, but the guy said that this was normal and it should be lasting for a day or two.

Mine did the same thing (on my old car too). It lasted maybe 3-4 days, then it was gone.
