ive ate up a powersteering belt once, the whole tension piece fell off 2nd time, and then the 3rd time i ate the belt up again, but this when everything started goin wrong. whenever i would cut my wheel, it would make this loud ass screaming noise. had a friend cut the wheel, watched the p/s, and it would like grip. wasnt really worried about it, jus only happened when i cut my wheel all the way. street raced acouple weeks back, and this time i popped the whole p/s belt off. didnt eat it up, just popped right off. i think it happened right when i popped my shifter during 3rd (wasnt watching my rpms), cuz when we finally let off, i went to hit a turn and noticed my p/s was gone. on the way home, noticed my battery light kicked on, jus thought my system was killing it. got home, put my belt on, and noticed a little slack, not too much. started her up, started making that noise as soon i turned her on, cut the wheel, giving gas, just sitting there. went around the block, still that damn noise while i was driving. took a look around, noticed my altinator belt was gone. dont know how long its been gone. got a new alt. and p/s belt, put em both on, and it still made that noise. but then i noticed my tension screw was stripped somewhere, screw wont even go no where, loosening, or tightening. got pissed off, said fuck it, took of p/s belt and decided to wait until i got a new tension pully n what not. and now my car still makes the screaming noise when i give her gas in neutral, and every so often out of the blue. can someone with experience, not just a guess, someone that has a pretty damn good idea whats wrong with it respond. thanx,

well, after u put belts on, they "stretch" slightly. u will have to go back after a cuple miles of driving, and tighten the belts up a lil more..

i threw a belt once, and never again emoji

good luck

the other day it was real cold here in mass. i started up my car and like a minute later my belts started squeaking like really really loud. came home and hit it with some belt dressing, stopped for like a minute then started again. later on that night they just stopped squeaking out of the blue. now mind u these are brand new belts, prob. like 3 months old. before i got the udcp installed, my belts also used to squeak alot. now today they were a little squeaky but barely noticable. but i found that when i pushed the clutch in to downshift into second today it let out a loud screetching noise. now mind u it only did this a few times and only when downshifting into second. any idea what it could be? ive had more trouble with these damn belts since i bought it. belts frayed and had to be replaced when i first bought it, then everytime after it rained, squeaky belts, now this on brand new belts again. the tensioner seems to be fine. i was thinking maybe cause the coolant resovoir, and radiator filler neck sits right there and maybe coolant spilled down there, cause i know coolant can be sticky when drying. but i dont think thats it. so please help. sorry about the book but im stumped here.

update
well went out tonight. belts started squeaking again. especially when i downshifted/pushed in the clutch, the belts would let out a loud ass screatching noise. so im thinking hmmm sounds like something is being stressed. maybe my belts have been too tight and this below freezing weather prob. isnt helping much either. so i get home, loosen the belt tensioner. then spray wd40 on all the pullies and the underside of the bel;ts. went back out for a 10 min cruise, no squeaks or scretches. im assuming maybe i fixed it, but i doubt it. anyway im thinking maybe a pulley is being strained or something. or maybe its just this cold as 20 degree weather. because it started as soon as this abnormally cold weather moved in. 20 degrees on nov. 28th and dec. 1st is a little abnormal here in mass. but if u guys have any input on this whole situation i would love to hear it.

I use the normal belts that Checkers sells. I throw my PS/AC belt every week. Its always hanging there so I put it back on. Not sure what the prob is. Finally I tightened it like hell, I mean like hell, so far 2 weeks later it hasnt fallen off. ALT belt hasnt come off yet. Oh wait, last winter when it got cold and metal shrunk, the alt belt did come off once before I tightened it like hell.

I got banned for being a constant tard.
