I went to satan and asked for manual tranny oil for my car. They came back and said that they have been using atf 4 in the mtx neons and it will work in my eclipse. Im not putting this stuff in untill some convinces me that it is the right stuff. They also said that chrysler is switching over to atf 4 for their transmissions.
thank you
jake

To juggalo, is that a right Tranny fluid for our car?
Our tranny is F5M, isn't that right? it should be Part number 05010320AA not the 04874465. And the bottle write something like "75W-90 Gear"
I see the Part Number at http://www.nagca.com/grandtech/JeepTrans%20Fluids.pdf

I don't know whats wrong, but when i buy that tranny fluid at Chrysler dealer, they give me same just like yours (PN 04874465).

I think they look at their chart and it says a different tranny model or something because it took someone who knew a lot about chrysler to figure it out.

the eclipse MT is the F5MC1. but on the back of bottle it specifies its for the NV T350 (A578) Manual Transaxle, which is the neon tranny. the avenger uses the same drive train as the eclipses, the 5 spd avenger uses a new Venture T350 transmission. and i got the bottle from mitusbishi

If your bottle says 75W-90 then they gave you oil for the 4G63 MTX. The one you need doesn't specify a weight. It's the one pictured up there ^^^

To answer everyones questions....

The mitsu dealers dont know crap... I called mine and they said... ummmm, we use gear oil..... I was like haha, you dumb idiot..... after further checking he said to use 75-90w gear oil...lol, nice guys huh?

THe NT eclipse has the NVT350 tranny.... the stuff pictured is the correct stuff.

But just so you know.... synthetic ATF will work fine.... my new tranny has over 10k on it the last 2 months with synthetic ATF.... I do plan on getting the right stuff... but synthetic ATF will work fine.... emoji

I'd be careful switching over.... soon as i switched back over to the right fluid, 500 miles later and the tranny was shot... no prior problems

I might just leave it with the ATF for now... its running fine.....

That clutch I got from you is still going great as well.... got 10k on both the tranny and clutch in the last 2 months or so.....

Lost my clutch the other day, got a leak in the pipe going to the slave cylinder..... anyway, I drove home in 2nd gear for 15 miles.... started the thing in 2nd twice with no clutch..... the clutch took the kickin....lol

the turbo setup should be goin in in a coupkle of weeks, as soon as I get off my lazy ass and decide to install it.... so we'll see what happens to it then... emoji

Thanks for the info guys, so they give me the right part now. But before this they gave me the bottle with "75W-90 Gear" and Im not change it yet until now, I hope there is nothing prob with my tranny later, at least until now my tranny have no prob after I drive it hard about 6 month.
Do You have any advice about how often I must change my tranny fluid?

Thanks
