okay well i got my gst muffler from a guy in texas for $20 bucks.he told me that between the muffler and the end of the pipe there was a cut so i got a muffler with a foot of pipe as well as another foot of pipe. i took it to a muffler shop to get it welded back together. he said hed do it for $70 bucks. is it just me or is that a little expensive?

He's not dishonest. Shops charge more or less depending on the area. Most shops charge around 50 bucks to weld in a universal muffler, but to weld on a gst muffler with no piping modifications its usually around 30. 70 is on the high end, but not a dishonest ripoff.
