Alright, so I have a 95 Talon ESi and I got a test pipe put on the other day. It was fine for a couple days, but now the CEL comes on, so I tried the 1 megaohm 1/4 watt resistor trick on the oxygen sensor after the cat. I put it on the white/green wire because that is the same wire as the black one after the connector under the drivers seat. I took it for a 15 minute drive, no CEL, so I'm happy, then just as I pull up the driveway, bam the CEL comes on. What the heck? Did I do something wrong? Anyone have any ideas. I tried to pull the codes off by turning the key on-off-on-off-on and I think I got codes 12, 21 and 55, what are these codes?

i just put the resistor on my car too, and i think you used the wrong wire. We did it to mine friday night and even now Im still CEL free. We put the resistor on the gray wire, it was a guess, but I guess we got lucky

I agree. I would double check the wire to be sure its the proper one. Also, you need to reset the ECU by disconnecting the negative battery cable for a few seconds, before you start her up again. I have had a gutted cat for many months now, and no CEL at all for it, using that resistor.

Well when I look at the connector from the rear O2 sensor I see 4 wires. In the neon write up and from other people I have been told that it is the black wire that we want to add the resistor to. So I followed it past the connector to just inside the center counsel, so i could keep the resistor inside the car, vs. underneath the car. After the connector I am sure that the black wire turns tot he green/white one. Could anyone double check and follow the wires underneath your seat to the connector? Anyother ideas let me know. Thanks again.
