Alright I have a rs right now but will probably be putting in a turbo in the spring. I want to get an exhasut now though, one that will still work well with the turbo. I'm looking at the Apexi N1, I'd like to have a deep tone without the fartcan noise. So what would u guys recommend? Also, I'd be putting in a test pipe, should I go with 3 inches on both the test pipe and catback exhasut? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks..

yeh, what he said... so if you think its going to be a while before you turbo it, just pick up a muffler for now with your 2.5" exhaust, then go 3" with the turbo. The loss in low end on an N/A would totally suck for the time inbetween.

well if i do go with a 3" exhaust what would you guys recommend? i'm going with the apexi n1 right now, does it matter if it says its for a gs-t when i have a rs? and uhm if i get a test pipe instead of my cat do i get a 2.5" one, will that fit? and i guess i'd get the turbo one..

The rs, gs, and gs-t exhausts are all the same from the cat back. I have a 2.5 inch test pipe and it fits ok with the stock 2.25 inch downpipe and a gs-t catback.

okay so i'll go with the gst 3' catback..what do you recommend for an exhasut? i want something that doesn't sound like a fart can and not very loud in the interior..

Sorry to tell you but all exhausts will have a low tone, ( fart can bummble bee, whind up toy sound are for Civic's) a good exhaust wouldn't cause that sound on our cars, I know I had a Borla when I was NT. Now I have a Thermal 3", the one for the GST. I recommend it above any other. I don't know about any out there with silencers and such, but pretty much HP=noise..

i've got the N1 Turbo full catback on my NA car an the loss in low end really wasn't that noticable. the gain in top end was very nice though. i was pretty surprised at how much faster it'd climb the first time i went driving with it on. i wasn't payin attention to the RPM's at first an almost redlined a couple times. it just feels less restricted. i'm not sayin this is gonna produce a ton more HP. but the highend HP gains are noticable. haha if nothing else it sounds faster. an the n1 silencer does a pretty good job of quietting it down if it starts to get to you. good idea to put it on if you're gonna be takin any long road trips as it does drone at certain RPM's on the highway w/o the silencer. overall i'd highly recommend the apexi n1 turbo catback (if you've got the cash). especially if you're gonna turbo eventually. it's not really a problem while you're NA. the hardest part of the install will be takin off your stock exhaust. (mine was rusted a bit an had to be torched). the n1 bolts right up to everything. even has an adapter for bolting up to the cat. if you go w/ a high flow cat later, this allows you to keep that 3" piping all the way (still not cutting or welding - all bolt up). all the piping's powder coated and mandrel bent. the quality's obvious when you take it out of the box. if you're look for a good place to buy from, i'd highly recommend road race engineering (www.roadraceengineering.com). they specialize in our cars. really excellent customer service too. hehe they'll prolly ask you a couple times if you're sure you want a turbo catback on your NA. hope that helped!
*edit* oh yea one more thing - regarding your test pipe. check out RRE's site. they've got 3" test pipes that are made to bolt up to the turbo n1 catback.
damn i just checked their site an looks like their turbo catbacks are on backorder now.. before a lot of places were on back order but RRE had them in stock. sorry.. but if you get the turbo catback look into getting your testpipe an stuff from RRE as it bolts right up to the n1 piping (you just ditch the 2 1/2 - 3" adapter you'll be using with your stock cat).

I would recomend the n1 I have an Apexi dunk and realy like the tone of it. Any brand name exhaust you get will give you a nice deep tone. Most of the time the anoying bumble bee sound comes from a porly welded on muffler that just ratles around.

I suggest just getting a muffler you like and having the pipe custom bent after you have the turbo kit. Then you can get the 3" pipe all the way. And if you get a 3" inlet muffler then you can use that later on with the new piping.

Right now I have Thermal's 3" turbo cat-back with a 5" tip and I love it. The only problem is that I did indeed lose a ton of power. Since it's my only performance mod I get raped left and right by V6 Camaros but it sounds great. My HRC stage 1 is sitting in my closet and once that goes on next month in December I can't wait for those Camaros to come back. =)

hehe actually it's gonna be more a matter of "now to find who has it in stock.." i think RRE an machV both have 'em on backorder. i know a bunch've places were the same too. hehe everywhere's got the NA n1 in stock though... but you don't want that turbo is nice!
