Well, the first gauge I would install would be an oil pressure gauge. The stock idiot light is a POS. It is the spun rod bearing indicator. If it goes on, get ready to pony up the money for some work at the very least, and a new motor if you don't catch it in time. I lost 2 motors to oil starvation, and I am anal retentive about oil changes and such. Here is what I would use...
Oil Pressure <==== IMPORTANT A/F EGT Boost fuel pressure coolant temperature oil temperature voltage
Now, going to need some creativity to mount all of them, but I would start with an A-pillar triple pod, the gauge bezel that goes around the stock gauges, and one of the following options...

Or if you have an sAFC, one of these
and some other way to mount the other 2 gauges. Maybe below the radio somewhere (been so long since I have driven the car, so Ican't remember if there is space between the shifter and the center console under the radio).
Just a couple of ideas to toss out there. First and foremost, though, get an oil pressure gauge. I cannot stress this enough. This motor doesn't like to run dry, not even for an instant. It WILL spin a bearing. Repeat, it WILL spin a bearing. I got my Autometer Phantom for 50 bux at a local shop, and I bet that you could find it cheaper. Mounting one gauge is easy, Lotek sells a 1 gauge pod for the a-pillar. I think that 1 gauge is a waste, so why not start off with the 3 gauge pillar pod? Leave a couple of them blank for now, but get an oil pressure gauge. I heard somewhere that a 420a powered car should have an oil pressure gauge. A man once said that a 420a powered car should have an oil pressure gauge. I firmly believe that a 420a powered car should have an oil pressure gauge. Was I too subtle that I recommend for any 420a powered vehicle to have an oil pressure gauge? I mean, I can say it again... -=B-=
Dude, Boeing called. They want their wing back.
