#37393, "Cost of installing AFX udp"

I know many people on the board have the pulley. I know some people put it on themselves, and others had somebody else do it. To the people that had shops do it, how much labor did they charge? When i get it, i'll probably have them install it when they change my timing belt. Also, which is easier to install, the UDP or cam gears? TIA.

cam gears is the same process as udp plus one more step: taking off the cam gears and putting the new ones on.

If you're going to do it, i'd do them both at the same time.

I think if you took your car in for 60k (or whenever you change the timing belt), and you took in your udp, they probably wouldn't charge you much to put it on.. i mean, they have to take off the pulley to change the belt anyway.

Sounds good to me. So i guess i should just wait until i have the pulley and the cam gears, and then have them all installed at the same time. Does that sounds like a reasonable idea. How much would the cam gear install be?

figure the install 50-80 an hour. if they know what they are doing, it will be between 50-80. if they wanna charge you extra, it can be double that or more.
later
