Any body have any experience with the GTech Pro?

http://www.gtechpro.com/index.html

Does alot of stuff and looks nifty as hell and has a nice shift light but through the cigarette lighter....hmmm. I know it has to be prep'd on a level surface and they claim its accurate as hell but I'm skeptical. The suction cup thing is kinda gay too...not a bad price though.

I know I cant spell.

i have it. it works pretty well, but u need a passenger in the car to really get it to work. because the unit will not function unless it is perfectly flat and it vibrates a little on the windshield....so you have to keep bending it up and down to it levels out, then you have to press a button to start the timing. other than that it works really well.

i used the gtech for over a year, it was pretty accurate. when i raced at the track, i got a 15.8. i did the gtech and i got 15.6. its a pretty good investment kinda a bitch to get working right. there is also a new gtech called the performance pro. it has a cable outlet for a computer to log times, and it also doesnt need to be levelled, has a built in shift light, and can store up to 1 hour of data. i was gonna get it, but for 249 bones, i can put my money somewhere else.

Yeah, thats the one I'm refering to. The one with the shiftlite and graphic display. Is the screen nice and bright on it? The pictures dont really do it justice.

get the cheap one and use it to check how your times change when adding mods.. that's what it's good for.. and it's very accurate for that.

I used it on my 1997 Eagle Talon ESI 5-speed when it was stock(27000 miles). The G-Tech said 16.9@ 85 MPH. never took it to the track when it was stock.

What about the horsepower?
It tells you how much you have in your car...
Is it HP at the crank or wheels?
Is it accurate?
The one with the graphical display has something like a dyno chart, pretty nice to see what you have on the spot..

It's at the wheels I beleive, and I wouldn't think it'd be all that accurate, it just uses a simple calculation with your ET time and your vehicles weight, same as all the online ones, so it's probably not anymore accurate then those when it comes to HP.

When I used it on my 1997 camaro Z28 with the Automatic trans, it said 14.0 in the 1/4 and 239 horse power.
