there's an adjusting bolt like the one on the idler pulley, just loosen the alternator bolts and use the adjusting bolt. I find it easier to get at from under the car.

I had to remove the cruise control box and reach it with open end wrenches through the top

check out the chilton's i referenced the pages on my writeup...

just try a bunch of diff angles.. if u have cruise control, u will have to remove it, or at least unbolt it from the firewall, and lay it on the valve cover to get it outta the way. u may wanna try to get to the bolts from the bottom, or under the car... on my 99, i couldnt, but on my buddies 97 esi, i could, and it made it a lot easier....

good luck

You can't see it from under the car, but what you have to do is reach with your fingers right above the top of the alternator and you'll feal the bolt. put a 13mm wrench on it and tighten. It might be 14, I just did this, but can't remember which one it was.
