Well I've been noticing a slight drop in power recently. Well today I hear my compressor running. I check and the ac is turned off like normal. I used to feel a noticable difference in power when the ac is turned off and then turned on obviously, but now it feels the same turned on or off in the car. How can I get my ac to shut off and what could the problem be. I disconnected a harness that was above the compressor behind the passenger headlight and that didnt stop it. P P P P Please help me!!

It really shouldn't be runnung with your high pressure switch disconnected. I would plug it back in. turn on your air and see if your compressor cycles off and on like normal and make sure that what you are hearing IS the compressor running and not jus a bad clutch or pulley

Well I pulled the fuse for it and it stopped running. I guess its an electrical prob. But where. Could it have shorted out inside the compressor itself.

I only have a vague guess. If your compressor is running without the air being turned on (and without your defrost being on), I would think that it is a short in the wires running directly to the compressor clutch. trace them and see if you can see anything out of the ordinary. or leave the fuse out until a shop can check it out (I can't believe I just said that) beings its not working anyway.
I'll think about this and let you know if I come up with anything.

I was actually the relay I pulled for it and i think I might jus put in a new relay first to try the easy way and see if the relay was screwed. If not I'll figure it out. Thanks
