#35917, "What to do next?"

Alright, I need help on deciding what to do next. You can see my current mods in my signature. I'm not planning on going turbo for along time (at least 2 years) so don't mention it emoji Anyways - I want some more power from my car, its slow and auto!!! What I'm thinking is in spring time I'm gonna get a shift kit and motor mount inserts (hopefully that'll help some), now is there anything else I should consider doing that will make a noticeable difference?? What would be better to get: UDP, 60MM Throttle Body or headers or something else? (I want the most noticeable gain emoji )

Thanks,
Mike.

Have you thought of getting a Translab valve body kit/w end clutches. It will make that auto a lot more responsive and last longer to boot.
I haven't installed mine yet (too much of a puss I suppose), but the guys on the DSM A/T guys swear by them.

First I've ever heard about it - what is it exactly? How much? Or is that the same as the Transgo shift kit?

Thanks.

I have an older Import Tuner, where they modded an Eclipse RS 5sp. There mods included AEM CAI; Apexi Catback, headers (i think greddy, cant find the magazine right now), then they added AEM adjustable Cam gears and finally Nitrous ExpressNOS single fogger and the final hp at the wheels was 163.00 and final tq was 165.4tq lb. So maybe you can throw in the Cam Gears and headers.

cam gears won't do as much as a UDP. headers won't do poo till you build the motor or get NOS. and even then still won't do much. if you don't have the money for boost now than save your mod money in an envelope under your matress so maybe someday you will have the money for boost emoji

The transgo shift kit isn't as liked on the dsm a/t board as the translab kit.(not MY opinion but theirs)
Like I said, I have been too much of a puss to install this yet, (but I will) so I don't really have fist hand experience with it.

There are some good write-ups on this.
Charles who did this write-up..
http://www.plymouthlaser.com/skit.htm
He is a 1G guy but he REALLY knows his shit! I e-mailed him several times, and he always was very helpful. He put me i contact with the gentleman who created the kit, and the owner of translab.
Dean J Mason
deanmason@juno.com

This guy was extremely knowledgable and helpful. for $150.00 freight included. he set me up with the shift kit, alto end clutches, and seals in under a week. he even asked if I was in a jam and needed them by the weekend! (it was thursday)

sorry if this sounds like spam, but, us a/t guys don't get much love so wee need to share as much info as we can.

peace

Actually, I believe the Translab shift kit is only for 2G Turbo A/Ts, and not for 2gNTs. I talked to someone who had bought it, only to realize it wouldn't work for our cars.

The TransGO shift kit will work for ours however. It's only $30, but is a pain to install. There's a writeup at:

http://www.rhinehart.net/transgo.htm

You should check out their site. Has a lot of great info on modding the auto Avenger/Sebrings.

I recommended the UDP also. I'm getting that installed later this week (can't wait!)

I'm not sure if the motor mounts will matter that much, as our autos have pretty weak launches anyway. I'd like to be proven wrong on this tho. If it's a noticeable difference, I'm all for getting it.
