I need to know which line is the return line for the auto tranny. Is it the one closest to the engine or closer to the wheel well?
Please help me out.

well nobody has responded to your post yet so, Put both lines in their own pail, can or whatever and start it, dont let it run very long (only seconds) enough time for the tranny to pick up the fluid from the pan. then look and see which one pumped the fluid out, and that one goes in the inlet. be careful though, you can pump out a $hit of fluid in a hurry. emoji

Well isn't that a bitch!
I already hooked up the tranny cooler to the line near the drivers side wheel. I don't know if this is right but I don't have very good luck with my tranny questions.

Thanx for your response man, atleast you tried to help. emoji

Sorry dude.
I didn't know the answer to that exact question, so I left it for someone who might know to field. I will however share all that I know about our transmissions (us A/T guys need to stick together).

Do you have a tranny cooler hooked up? I just need to know if I hooked it to the right line. I know there are alot of people on this board with tranny coolers, but I don't know why they wont respond. emoji

check out dsmtalk.com. they actually have a specific A/T forum, which is quite helpful. asking there should yield an answer very quickly.

good luck!

I have a B&M trans cooler on my car, only because whoever owned this car before wrecked it and replaced the a/t radiator with an m/t one.
I didn't really care about which way they flow because it doesnt have any valve in it to control the direction of flow. I intend on putting in a guage at a later time (first I need to buy cup mounts though). so I'll need to know the answer to your question soon.

I will just unhook the cooler lines, put the trans in neutral, pull the engine fuse, and have one of my buddies crank the engine once and see which hose the fluid comes out of.

let me know if you get there first though.

peace

dsmtalk sucks, everyone and their mom on that site has a 4g6X engine. No one has answered or attempted to answer my question on the other board.

Man I hate the idea of pressure hoses being unplugged and having some friend watch which hose will spray him.

sorry to be so late. but i have not been under my car recently but for me, i have mine on the line which connects to the drivers side of the radiator, so follow that line to the tranny ontop and you should be good. i have my cooler mounted on the side vent on the drivers side. the line i tap into for the cool is great since that is when it gets cooled down after the radiator back to the tranny. hope this helps a bit.

Thanx for the info man! emoji I tapped in to the line on the drivers side of the radiator too. That make me feel alot better now that I don't have to move anything around again.

I installed the status drive gears last night and I love that shit. If anyone has an AT and doesn't have these gears, your missing out.

check the things we've seen before section and do a search.
lots of info on this.

ask me all of the questions you want. I just did mine. It was a breeze, but keep in mind that it is only for the automatics.
