what you do dave is just enlarge the metal sleeves (the ones in the holes for the torx screws) or sometimes completely remove it so that you can actually turn(adjust) the sensor to adjust the resistance it has without opening the butterfly valve.
Basically its like opening the butterfly valve just a bit but this way you dont actually move the valve and get the leak, you just can adjust the sensor
(get it)???
the sensor will think the throttle valve is open more when in reality it isn't, so you get move voltage at idle and WOT.
This will give you a little boost in power but will soon fade as the ECU relearns the values and starts to ignore the fact that it was .38vdc at idle and is now .75 vdc
