I pulled up to a redlight and shifted to 1st. When I put the clucth in , it resisted and was hard to push in. I let off the clutch and gave it gas and the RPM's went up to 6k and it barley moved. So now it won't move at all. The clutch is hard to push in and nothing happens , just RPMs go sky high and it smells like it's burning. I called a mechanic and he's an idiot. He does'nt know if it's the clutch or somehting else. He also asked me if the clutch was a hydrolic or cable clutch. I need help. It's parked on the side of the street and I need to take it somewhere. If you think it is the clutch , where can I buy an ACT 2100??

it does sound clutch related...
ACT doesn't make clutches for the 2GNT - so you can't get a 2100 anywhere.

if your clutch was out you would not be able to put it in gear and the pedal would go to the floor and have none to very little pressure, it wouldent be hard to push in, directly the opposite.

I know this is a post from the dead, but I'm doing my researching and reading and yep, I took too much stupid pills today. As some of you know from all my other posts, I'm having clutch/tranny problems. This guy says if my clutch went out I wouldn't be able to put it in any gears. Well my CM4 is about a year old with no more than 10k miles on it. I'm able to put my car in any gear and it won't stall or move. So is this a clutch or tranny issue. I'm just looking for a not too expensive way out of this seeing how classes just started.

try opening the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder(just opening it with out pressing the pedal) if the fluid shoots out you have have a clog somewhere in the lines.... most likley is that rubber clutch hose. if it just kinda oozzes out the try bleeding it. if that doesn't work then probly the clutch is gone.
by the why they are hydrollic be sure to get some DOT 3/4 brake fluid oh and if it is that hose i would go ahead and get the RRE steel braided clutch hose for 20 bucks

95 clutches are hydraulic I would know hehe. I love my clutch, it's the best feeling clutch of all cars I've ever driven, I don't think the later models feel any different either at least I haven't noticed.

96 is cable i think, theres a spring attached to the pedal attached to a metal cable, i think the eclipse has one of the best factory clutches in the buisness
