I was just wondering how much some of you guys have paid to 'open' up your intake manifold (I don't know if I'm saying this right, but I'd like mine to be the same size as the 55mm TB that I'm going to put on), I don't have a lot of money right now to P&P it, just looking to make the openings the same size...

If all you want to do is have the t/b matched to the intake, I would guess around $25 to $45 at a machine shop. They would most likely be the cheapest and do the cleanest work. emoji

The opening is almost 55mm, it may be 54mm. The difference is very minimal. I wouldn't pay anybody to open it up until you get the whole thing ported & polished. $25 to $45 would put you close to the $80 you can get the manifold ported/polished for at ARD.

If you have a dremel get a metal sanding bit and do it yourself. Or you "can" do it by hand with sandpaper (a much longer way of doing it, only try if you ar every patient)

Trust me, don't try it with sand paper, you'll spend months polishing the thing emoji

A Dremmel with a long flex extention is the best bet. Even with a dremmel it will be a time consuming process smoothing out those runners.

I wasn't talking about the whole manifold with sandpaper. He was just looking to open up the entrace to the manifold. That would be bad enough with the sandpaper. But the whole manifold? I'd rather drink turpentine and piss on a brush fire than try to port and polish the manifold by hand.
