Like the subject line says.....where is the stock rev limiter on our cars? I'm asking because I was out racing tonight and after finishing a run, I checked the peak hold on the SAFC and it said the peak rpms were 7485. Is this number accurate? I thought our rev limiter was 7200???

haha dang jenky SAFC. Hehe but it could be right if you rev it high evough you can go past the rev limiter. Our limiter is at 7200 unless your an automatic.

That is because your rpm "carried" further up. Mine also hits 7400 when I'm really on it. Although I wouldn't recomend that too many times, especially if you have a turbo...

Hmmmm, well I guess the rapid climb in rpms could have pushed me past the 7200 limit. I didn't hit any type of cut, fuel or spark. It was smooth acceleration up until the shift.
The reason I'm relying on the SAFC for my rpms instead of my tach is because 3 years ago when I knew nothing about my car but wanted to start modding, I bought some indiglo gauges from a shop in town. Well, they sold me the ones for an automatic so my tach only goes to 8k. It's off by around 350rpm, so I trust the SAFC to show me the actual rpm readings. I WILL be getting rid of those indiglos soon.
