#3519, "Is $125 too much for a GS-T Muffler?"

I've been looking around for a GST muffler and was quoted $125 from M&S recycling. I was wondering if you guys thought that was way too expensive or if that was reasonable. Also people with GST muffler mod, is it that much of a difference in power or should I spend my money on a aftermarket brand name exhaust system.
Thanks everybody.

yes, 125 is way too much. I paid 75 for the whole catback. all you really need is the muffler section. the piping is the same with the addition of a resonator on the GST piping. Real HP gains are still a mystery. but looks a lot better than the stocker.

that is too much.
they go for like $50-75 at the dsmtrader and parts trader.
Or, you could look around your area and perhaps score a free one from a speed shop or gst owner.
for 130 you could get a nicer aftermarket muffler.
It won't add much horsepower, but it flows better which makes other mods work better as well.

Thanks guys. Any suggestions on brands of mufflers if I can't find a cheaper priced GST muffler? I don't want to lose any low end torque ( i need every precious pound...) that's why that GST muffler sounded so good.

i got mine shipped for $65. i dont know too much about back pressure and all that stuff but ive heard that as long as you keep the stock cat you should be alright with any free flowing exhaust.

pacesetter headers
gs-t exhaust
red altezzas
rims, tires, and a bunch of other little stuff....that list is way too short....more will come!

That's a rip off. $75 at the most, preferrably $50 (since it will be used) or whatever you can get away with
