#34886, "Finally getting a built motor!!!!"

I am finally starting on building my motor this week. I am pickin gup a block from Lo RS 4me tomorrow. I ordered brand new parts from Mitsubishi and they should be here on Friday. Check out the great prices.

used block from Lo RS 4me $40.00 and a drive to Tampa
new crankshaft for 420a $276.64
rod bearing set for 420a $16.56 set of 4
main bearing set for 420a $13.11 for one and then $19.32 set of 4

It cost me around $350 with tax. Also checkout www.rpmxtreme.com. They are located here in Kissemmee, FL. They have Wiseco pistons with rings for $389 + tax and Eagle rods for $339 + tax. I am heading out to Orlando this weekend so I might go check them out.

Now all I need is a used head so I can install my cam kit and AEM cam gears sitting in my closet. Also I have to port the head and intake manifold. I might try a 60mm Jeep throttle body that's for sale on the board here. HRC/Accel 525cc/min injectors and a polished Venom fuel rail.

Wish me luck!

Built 420a
NER turbo kit T3/T04s ball bearing
AFX UDP
Crane 0014 cams

What brand of bearings did you get? I would go with clevite 77 personally. Also when you have the head ported dont have it polished, I know this could turn into a big argument, but since the fuel enters in the head it needs a place to mix with the air before entering into the combustion chamber. If its polished, the fuel will roll down into the cylinder w/o a proper mix. I would leave it with a semi rough port job. The roughness will hold some fuel in the head and allow it to mix. But polish the hell out of the intake manifold, since air is the only thing traveling through it. If you plan on doing it yourself, make sure you get the get all the runners ported equally. Port match everything to the gasket including the head, and look for anything that could disturb the flow of air through the runners emoji

I agree after running jr dragster for many years and build engies for other racers if u polish the hell outta the head the fuel will puddle up. And when u port it after take sand papper witha die grinder (with a bit that holds sandpaper). When doing this u want the rpm's on the die grinder to be slow and u want to make in adn out movements fast but keep the die grinder slow. This will perform a crosshatch witch will make air coming it swirl witch in turn will mix perfect with the fuel. just my 2 cents to help out.

I have heard 200 grit is the best, but I have a quick question why not use the money for P&P of the intake manni and Jeep TB towards a ITB setup that was showed earlier, with cams you would be screaming!!! Just a suggestion.
