my eclipse smokes very bad out of the exhaust after about 5 minutes of running. I am using a quart of oil a week and also today i changed the oil and when i checked the spark plugs i took out #4 ond there was oil all the way up to the top of the plug wire. I am also not getting as good of gas mileage i think. Does this sound like the oil ring on my piston if so do you think it will be a very costly job to do this my self? Also what is a good website that i can find internal parts ie gaskets, pistons, cams, rings etc.. thank you

It could be a number of things: leaking headgasket, blow-by (worn piston rings, spark plug seal rings, etc. I'd recommend getting a compression check first, then work your way down the list. Well, first of all, replace the valve cover gasket and spark plug grommets. That is why you had oil in the plug. This could very easily cause a misfire, unless you use "dielectric motor oil" in your car. This alone will cause oil consumption. A quart per week? Probably not, but it is a part of it. What colour is the smoke that you see? White smoke is coolant (not smoke, but steam, but whatever), blue smoke is oil, and black smoke is unburned (incompletely conbusted) gas. If you are misfiring on the cylinder with oil in the plug well, then you are shooting gas right into the catcon, which can't quite process raw gas. If you load the cat enough, it bursts into flames nicely when you take a torch to it to try to get the nuts off to remove it and replace it with a test pipe. Not that I know.
