Well guys... I'm been surfing the web Searching for a 2.4L shortblock. according to bstockum.com i could get a brand new stock shortblock for around $1100. That sounds good for a brand new short block, but my wife scoffs at the idea of paying that much for an engine, only to turn around and drop another grand on billet rods and forged pistons. No, I don't want to use the 2.5 turbo pistons/rods. Billet/forged all the way for my baby. Gonna eventually do 10.5:1 + t3/t4 Turbo. Gonna try and build the motor over the winter, do the swap next spring sometime. I would love to find a great deal on a junkyard shortblock in rebuildable condition. What do you think is a Decent price to pay for a 2.4 L shortblock? I would love to get the block & some new pistons/rods for $1100 total. Preferably less. C'mon Y'all. Home me up with some good places to get this block CHEAP!

Mexico?... I would try sites like junkyarddog.com or do a google search on salvage yards or something. That's the best way to find out what's out there.
