No but make sure you either run that nipple on the valve cover to a catch can or at least put a breather on it also.

no, im talking about only putting a filter on the nipple and capping off the housing on the air intake would that cause anything negative?

No. That's fine. BUT if you get any blowby it will have no where to go but all over the engine bay
