What's the latest and greatest on this? I may have some money coming in soon to get one. Anyone have any opinions on it?

Thanks but I guess what I'm really looking for is to see if anyone actually has one in use now. Everyone seems to have talked about getting one but I haven't heard from anyone that actually has it. So is there anyone out there who has it or know of anyone that does and how they like/dislike it?

I have one. my rev limit is still at 7800 rpm, and I have about 10 extra degrees of timing.

I thought it was supposed to change the rev limit to 8200. I remember them saying it's supposed to advance the timing. What is your overall opinion on it. Is it worth $550(I'm not giving up my ECU) or not? I really want to know before I dump all that money in it when I can pay off some bills instead or go ahead and get a NOS kit(I know, the NOS is a no brainer, but I'm not in a rush for it either).

for a lightly modded car, it is a lot easier than getting a stand alone ecu and figuring it out for yourself. it is "supposed" to raise the rev limit to 8200, but for somereaslon, whoever programed mine forgot completely abotu the ignition cut (the only aspect of my ecu that I even use anymore emoji ). it raises timign abotu 10 degrees, and it will add about 9 hp on a relatively stock car. probably 20 on a turbocharged car. my car doesn't run lean. I fixed that. I have an accell dfi. I go tmy unit fo rfree, so I can't complain, but If I had to pay for one, I probably wouldn't have bought it (seeing as how I have well over 1500 bucks in engine management controllers already). for "EVERYONE ELSE" I think it is a good deal. PLEASE NOTE.............MY CAR IS NOT EVERYONE ELSE. MY CAR IS A WEE BIT AWAY FROM A RACE CAR IN A STREET CAR BODY.

Absolutely not. No doubts at all.

We don't need it though - our ECU kicks so much more ass than the OBD2 units.

So do you guys think it's worth it or not. The only thing I may add on later is a nitrous kit. So far I have an intake, exhaust, header, and UDP on the car.

OK here's what Howell sent me:

Me:
Can you give me some information on the ECU for the 97 Eclipse? I also would like to know how many you have sold and what kind of feedback the customers have given you about them. I saw someone's post about it on 2gnt.com and want to know some more info. about it.

Howell:
The feedback we have been getting back has all be positive. The dyno at about 10 hp, they increase the spark and fuel curves to a performance setting.

He also said in another email that it raises the rev limiter to 8100. I wonder why yours(AvengerEST) didn't get raised? Has anyone else tested this out yet? I mean the ECU not the rev limiter. Then again, yeah that too.
