ok guys i've been doing some research into *possibly* getting a tec3 once i go turbo early next year. here's what i've come up with with the assitance of a shop in Portland, OR.

TEC3 4cyl ECU: 1850
Wiring harness: 160
4cyl DFU: 140
Neon crank trigger kit: 160
Unorthodox Racing UDP: ~200
Mag sensor: 77
Map sensor: 75
Heated O2 sensor: 75

Total in parts: $2737

It would be about 15 hours to install. About 8hours to tune it, 4 of those being on the dyno.
I am also currently looking at building a 2.4L engine over the winter and slapping the turbo on that bad boy.
It will be mine. The question is when? I need to get a second job to help make some extra money to pay for all this.

The prices seem slightly high. I think those are suggested retail prices you should be able to find cheaper, at least for the main unit. I was told on par prices with the TEC-2 before TEC was releases, and those sold more in the $1200- $1500 range, so I'm guessing those are retail prices.

Also if you have an AFX underdrive pulley already you shouldn't need to go out and buy the unorthodox, crank trigger wheel should bold up to the AFX the same way it does to the unorthodox. Same 3 bolt pattern. Besides the unorthodox pulley they bolted to was on a Neon, different set up. The standard harmonic 3 bolt balancer pattern is what's important.

But nice choice in ECU's I looked around And Electromitive had the best set up and interface when I researched. eventually for stand alone's in my future that would be the one.
