i need a new clutch master cylinder... i looked up a few places online to order them and all i can find that's not the turbo engine 4g63... is this A588 no 420a, i wanna get this part someone please tell me if this is right ... ????

i had somebody try to tell me the same thing, that instead of the 420A it says on the sticker inside the engine bay, my engine was the A588. But it doesn't really matter, they are the same thing. So if its listed for the A588 it should be the same thing.

The second generation Mitsubishi Eclipse built between 1995 & 1999, with the 2.0 liter dual overhead cam engine and not turbo has the engine designation of A588. The 420a number you mentioned could be a casting number or reference number assigned by the North American Dealer network. But, any parts that you order under 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.0 l will be the correct parts for that model.
