In the past few days, I've noticed that the coolant in the reservoir boils (bubbling) after I turn off my engine. However, the oem water temp gauge looks normal. I am going to test the water temp sensor and flush my stock radiator this weekened. Has anyone experienced this symptom? The engine actually radiates a bit more heat than usual when I open the hood.

I get bubbles in my coolant but my temp stays fine as well. Bad news though....my problem is my headgasket Hopefully thats not the same case for you.....

I hope that's not my problem, but I see a light, gook buildup in the bottom of the coolant reservoir. Everything else seems normal.

Replace your radiator cap

What happens is that the cap can't hold the pressure anymore and the hot coolant flows into the coolant overflow tank and that bubbling sound is boiling coolant.

Easy fix. Good luck

Just think of it as half of an Eclipse with more power

JT, you're the man! I changed my radiator cap to a Stanz 16 Lbs., and for the past two days, the overflow stopped--no more bubbling coolant. Thanks man.
