Ok so i got my new muffler that is going on tomorrow, now all my friends here have hondas and acuras ect...... we go to this shop that does straight pipes from the header back. Now some of my friends told me to go with mandrell bent 2.5 in piping some say no way ill loose so much power and i should go with smaller piping. What is correct???????????? i know alot of people tell me i should take out the cat and the resinators. The new muffler has a built in resinator and there are no emissions here so im thinkin of ditchin the cat let me have some opinions here since i dont know to much on this subject please. also is $70 fair for welding and installing a muffler with all the piping?

straight pipe = LOUD for n/a cars. for turbo its a little loud. mandrel bend piping is really for turbo cars since you want a easy flow. depends what you plan to do later stay n/a or turbo or really just basic stuff? if just basic stuff stick with your piping now unless you want to get really loud with bigger piping.. mandrel bent piping 2.5" flows better then 3in crush bend( stock piping).. get it ?
cool

ok well right now in the near future no turbo in sight. I just want to go with what will give me the best performance. I have a cold air intake and lookin to do whatever will give the most power. I am clueless and just wodnering what i should say to the place when i go tomorrow.

I would go ahead with the 2.5 mandrel bent piping and leave the cat and resonators in. This way you wont be too loud, the 2.5 inch will free up flow for better top end power, and the cat restriction will help some with your lower end torque (not to mention keep your car legal). The less restriction you have, the worse off your low end torque will be and the better your top end performance will be.

hummm this sucks i have no clue what to do. I dont care about being legal, so def go with the 2.5 in piping so if i take out everything and go straight back i will loose my low end power? and gain high end power? if i switch the piping will my stock cat fit or no way?

if you got the cash go with the mandrel bend 2.5in piping you might loss LOW end a bit BUT gain high end a little little bit..just leave the cat and all stock.
