Would anything bad happen if i disconnect relays. besides the fact that whatever the relays control would not work? Cause for some reason, i have 4 relays mounted on my firewell behind the battery while everyone else has 2. And one of them has to deal with my OD, im just not sure which one. So will anything bad happen.
Does anyone know what things those relays contorl also?

Someone anyone? My OD Problem HAS to be one of my relays. Because i tested the OD button with a meter and when the button is pressed in (od on) i get a reading of about 2.5. When the button is depressed (OD OFF) i get a reading of 0. So the button is still working. And like i said, besides one harness connection, the wires go straight from the inide my od, under my dash, out the firewall and to one of my 4 relays.
And wtf are the relays connected to?! I mean, they plug into the thing but i dont see anything that would then take the info and pass it along to the engine.

Relays should be as follows starting from the passenger side: 1 Fuel pump relay 2 ASD relay 3 ETAX relay 4 Back-up light relay
Fuel pump relay only powers up the fuel pump. The ASD relay seems to supply power to the O2, ignition, and injectors. I don't think the tranny would run right at all if the ETAX relay were broken. Back-up light relay only turns on the reverse lights.
I traced the O/D switch wires on my '95 electrical manual. Seems like ignition switch power runs to the O/D switch (and back-up relay) when the ignition is "ON". When the O/D switch is "OFF", the power goes to the O/D light. When the O/D switch is "ON", the power goes to the EATX-ECM (tranny ECU). The EATX-ECU sees this power and allows the tranny to go into O/D. If the O/D light never illuminates and the O/D never comes on, then you must have a broken switch or damaged wire before the switch. I'm assuming it impossible that you would have simulataneously broken the wire going to the light AND EATX-ECU. It seems like your switch is working somewhat (I don't know why you would get 2.5). I'm certain that the ignition power is 12V. That means 12V goes to the back-up relay and O/D switch. 12V will then go to either the O/D light or EATX-ECU input. So, put the negative voltmeter probe to a good ground. Then put the positive probe to each of the 3 pins on the switch. You should see 12V on the supply pin (with ignition "ON"). 12V should alternately be supplied to the other 2 pins depending on switch position. Test this and tell us what you get.

thank you so much corbin, i will try that tomorrow. But it has to be the relay. Cause my reverse lights also do not work!!! I did the talon to eclipse ass swap and i cut my reverse lights and stuff. Maybe the wires from the reverse light hit a ground and blew the relay. Does this seem logical?
Also, on the switch thing. I wasnt measuring volts. I dont know what it was, my dad actuall did it for me, the symbol on the meter was something like ------->||| thats the symbol. And by switch i mean the actual OD switch on the shifter.
I will do what you said and get back to you tomorrow.

Corbin, i re-read your post. Do you want me to test the OD switch wires or the relay. I tested the wires. there are 3 wires running the the OD switch. A red, black, and yellow one. Anyway, i put the black Multimeter probe on a ground. tested all 3 wires for DC voltage with the key in the ignition turned to the last spot before you atcually start the car. I got no voltage on all 3 wires.
When i said i tested the OD switch, i meant i acually cut the wires leading from the OD switch to the relay (or whatever power source they are hooked uo to) so they were diconnected from any relay or any power source. I hook the red probe to the red wire, black probe to black wire. I pressed in the od switch and reading went to 0. When it was pressed again i got a reading of 2.5. I looked at the symbol on the multimeter again, it is this symbol ( ---->|--- )

I meant to test the switch (not relay). But you should replace the back-up relay if it seems to be broken (check on those back-up light wires too). If you are not getting power to the O/D switch with the ignition "ON", then you should have a broken/damaged wire/fuse before the switch. Test this with the car running too (might make a difference).
If you are daring, you could run a quick wire from the positive terminal of the battery and connect it to one of the other two pins on the switch. Connecting it to one side should power up the O/D light. Connecting it to the other one should allow the O/D to come on.

Corbin, maybe im not understanding the whole conecvept of relays. You say to hook up a power wire straight from the battery and touch it with one of the existing OD wires and the OD should power up or the "overdrive off" in my dash should light up.
But itsnt the whole point of the relays to relay the info somewhere else? so even if i did give power to the wire that tell the OD to turn off or on, doesnt that info have to pass thru the relay and then go somewhere else?
Maybe im wrong, i just want to make sure i dont fuck up nething else. Im wary about you saying, "if your daring"

OMG!! It fuckin worked corbin. I hooked up a power wire from my battery to what i assumed would be the power wire to my OD. I had a choice of, black, red, and yellow wire. I chose red as being powered. Hooked it up and my overdrive works now. Goes on and off without a hitch.
SO my dad came up with this theory. The relay must be programmed so that it will not give power to my OD switch if somehting else is not working. This would have to be my reverse lights, since that is what you said that relay also contorlled. I was messin with my reverse light wires and cut them and such and could have touched a power wire on a ground. Nonthless, my dad says that for some reason, the relay is prgrammed not to give power to my OD if the other variable (my back-up lights) are malfucntion/not working/fucked up.
SOOOOO now my question is, WHY! All the backup lights are is lights!! When i go into reverse gear, is my overdrive supposed to be off or something? Thats the only thing i could think of.
Anywaysm thanks for all your help. I ordered a 95 manual (i never recieved one with my car ((used)) ) so once that gets here i will have my dad loook at the wiring diagrams and see what he can come up with. SO i dont THINK i have a bad relay unless i fucked with my reverse light wires and they fried something inside the relay that would allow the OD to get power.

The relay is just a basic ON/OFF relay. No programming there. And I'm sure you're relay is fine. I think you accidentially grounded a power wire for your back-up lights at some point. This would have blown a fuse/fusible link somewhere between the reverse light and the ignition. There is a fuse/fusible link right after the ignition switch. After that blew, the back-up relay and O/D switch would no longer have power. The wire you pulled from the battery just bypassed that blown fuse. Search in the engine bay and footwell for a blown fuse or fusible link (something to do with lights or ignition).
