i installed a bosch o2 upstream sensor. Now do i need to reset the computer or will the service engine soon light go off on its own?

it should eventually go off. I reset mine and when i was datalogging it, the car still said there was no o2. but i datalogged it last night and now it says its there. I think it just takes a few hours or days (i have no idea)
