#32761, "Evap system going bad?"

It's been a while since I've heard a discussion about this and all I remember is that it ticks (I think). Anyway when I take off in first I get this ticking coming from around the crank pulley area. It increases w/ engine speed. I don't know if it does it in higher gears or RPM because once I get to 2500 RPM it gets drowned out by the turbo. It only does it under load too. If I just rev it I don't hear it. Does that sound like the Evap ticking or something else?

Well I have a CEL for no EGR so I don't know. And I have a 98 so can't do the key dance. If I unplug the vac line or the electrical connection do you think it will stop?

the ticking is coming from the evap canister in the passenger side bumper area. Mine did it before i rebuilt and it hasn't done it since now, so i don't know why it does it

I disconnected the vac line on the side of the TB and the electrical harness that is attached to the canister. It still did it. What does that thing do anyways? Can I just rip the whole thing out?

I believe the evap canister is used to trap gasoline vapors until the car can burn them off.(Somebody correct me if I'm wrong) I'm thinking you might wanna keep one on your car.
