If you have an exhaust you'll get alittle better sound.....Shouldn't you ask somthing more like "Does a header help PERFORMANCE." I suggest if you want sound difference the best way is to goto www.xplodsony.com and buy some subs and an amp, I have two 12's powered by a 1000watts, you'll notice that sound difference.

if you want to improve you sound for free just hollow out your cat. as long as you don't have to pass emission where you live. it'll improve your top end alot to. if you have headers and a performance muff, your car will sound like a performance machine instead of a souped up lawnmower

A header should not make a noticeable difference in the sound of your car.

gutting the cat will NOT improve the sound of the exhaust, it increased the raspiness of my exhaust note

I have a greddy 4-1, hi-flow cat, and Greddy SP Cat-back. I think my car sounds great. The header sure as hell didn't change my exhasust tone enough for me to really notice....may at redline it sounds a little louder...I dunno. Its not a noticalbe difference.
