I've seen mufflers that have these like fans or somthing on it....they really arent electric but just spin due to the flow of the exhaust....yet, it made me think. What would happen if you put a fan at the end of your air intake to force air into it. I think the results for off the line driving would be far better since there is limited air flow at lower speeds....So would this work? or have people already made this?

i'm not positive so don't flame, but just plain physics says that if the fan is not powered in any way, but just spinning due to the air going through it, then it is stealing energy from somewhere else to move itself, therefore making a more restrictive path for the air to enter. ??? is this right?

Nonono...You may be right but I was saying that the exhaust idea was pointless....but for my idea I would use an electric fan. So it would be powered.

its called a turbo, and is powered by your exhaust gases....

u can rig an electric fan up, but the power to drive the fan may negate the performance gains... also, i beleive someone was developing a blower style fan that was ran off of the existing accessory belts that blew air into the intake...

good luck either way...

OK, lets not get into this very far. If you want to know anything about it, here it is. Yes, it does work. Yes it has been made already. Yes they are for sale on ebay, just type in Electric turbo and your sure to find some garbage. Are they worth it? probably not. Are they safe? Most likely no. Do they help at all? I wouldn't put it on my car thats all i'm sayin. Peace.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

THEY ARE POINTLESS!!!!!! Look at it like this, you get the air to spin rite? We all know air can spin, and sit will spin into the intake manafold, but all that spining air is gana get slammed into your throtle first and get cut, then all the air in your manafold has to squize into the tiny holes into your injectors, so it is crap, if something sounds to good to be true, its crap

Im not trying to start shit but i just read this and was wondering why you would think air goes through your injectors. Gas goes through your injectors not air.
I agree with you on the electric turbos though, JUNK!

its also called RAM AIR where air is forced directly into the intake. and it requires no fan just the movement of your car.

Dang..... Im just gonna stop thinking. Thank you bullox for the backup. I would also like to take a moment to defend myself.... First off, you know who ever came up with the idea of this "electric turbo" made some cash off it no matter if the idea would or wouldn't work, so you have to give him/her props on that. Well actually thats all I have to say....Ohhhh and to the person who said "its called a RAM AIR" (DSMSPOON). I would like to say ....NO. Personally, Ram Airs suck. unless, you like starting a race moving. but mostly I think you would start a race on a line. So Ram Air serves no purpose at low speeds....therefore they serve no purpose when racing 1/4 mile. Maybe near the finish line. Soooooooo......my idea is not called an air ram....my idea would be the only thing that would make an AIR RAM work like its supposed to off the line. Enough with this....its friday at 6 and its time to shower up, racing begins soon.

Chris --96 eclipse, fully stock (wink, wink)... yeah i'll race.
