I'm almost 100% sure that ram air is just like it says...."ram" air. it sets the intake into a position where the air current is moving straight for the intake and then goes straight into the air filter.
Yeah, you're creating a pseudo forced induction set-up...but you're not even close to someone with a stage1...it's basically making it so that instead of your engine sucking air, it flows in better with higher speeds. Of course off the line there's no advantage to it what-so-ever. So you may gain some top end (like the 1-2 hp area).

Yeah, my setup works pretty well on the autobahn cruising at 100 mph, but I know it's not doing anything when driving slow. Plus I gotta clean my filter out like every month. But for a $6 mod, I'm happy with it!
