I really don't want to tell you guys because it's embarrassing but from all he help you've been I figure I owe you Well after changing NUMEROUS things (look at my other posts) I figured out what it was. The engine is a 96 so the ECT sender was different than my 98 harness. To begin w/ I broke the connector trying to get it on the wrong sensor (I didn't know at the time) So I went to autozone and got one for my car. I installed it and pushed the connector back on. It didn't snap on but It fit good. I figured hell it's broke so it's not clipping. Well after a week and after checking to see if the timing was off today we played w/ that connector. I was so frustrated I just said eff it and pushed real hard...SNAP... car started to hesistate and sputter real bad. Turned it off and reset the ECU. It's fired up 3 times in a row and runs perfectly. I can't freaking believe this whole car was on the fritz because of one POS sensor. But once again thanks for all the replies. You guys are awesome!!!

Just to make you feel a little better, I'll tell this story....

The voltage kept dropping in my car and I didn't know why. I had a new battery, but I had it tested just to make sure. So I figured it was the alternator. I didn't have the money for it just yet, so I drove around like that and had to get jumped to leave again.

I finally got the money, climbed under the car to swap the alternator, went to unplug the sensor plug and I accidentally pushed in before pulling it off and heard a "click"......the damn thing wasn't plugged in all the way! Worked fine after that, so I had to go return the new alternator.

That would make me feel better but I had to replace my first POS alt also It was a PITA.

Here is an idiot story that will make anyone feel batter....

My first year in college I did't have a lot of money and my parents bought me a Volvo to drive around for school. Well I was really new to the automotive world as far as doing my own work but I really didn't have a choice due to the lack of funds. So my water pump goes out shortly after I get it. I go to replace it which is a really easy job on a 4 cyl Volvo, and as I am putting the new one back on I bust off a bolt in the block. What the hell lets whip out the old drill and get that sucker out of there. Well there just happened to be another hole just the size of the bolt that let water from the waterpump to the water jacket around the cylinders. Guess which one I drilled out. Put a really nice hole right through the cylinder. OOPS!! I didn't know exactly what had happened until I just bolted the pump on with the remaining bolts and started it up. Yes it ran but not well. I knew something was majorly wrong when all my coolant started pooring out of my tailpipe.

Was my only car so I was without for quite some time.

Lesson Learned.... Torque Wrench

hahaha yea... thats pretty bad Here is my stupid guy story. Way back in the day before I even had my eclipse (well before I had a car for that matter), my friend and I decide to change the oil in his probe. We get out the POS jack in his trunk and jack the car up on one side. We get under the car, loosen the plug and start draining the oil. Once all the oil is drained, we open the cap and get ready to put the new oil in. First, for some reason, I checked the dipstick... well there was still oil on the dipstick... Yea... we drained his manual tranny oil hahaha. Anyway, that was on a sunday evening and we had to wait till the next day to go get the right fluid to fix it... I figured it wasn't a big deal though since he needed to have it changed anyway haha.

Oh jeez.. I have a couple for ya. First was my friend's Honda civic. We were going to change the oil, well he went to loosen the oil plug and couldn't get it off. He tells me he can't get it, so I go down there and give it a try.. no go. We tried for over an hour and had the nut pretty rounded over when I finally realize we were turning it the wrong way!! 20 minutes later we were done, but damn I felt stupid.

Second was an old truck I used to have. My first time changing my own oil, well I drained the oil out but forgot to put the plug back in. So I start filling it up, I dumped 9 quarts of oil in there before I realize its flowing right out on the floor.

Well I have a story. Has to do with oil but not a car.
I used to work for a Chrysler dealer, one day they had me empty the oil buckets into a 50 gal drum. Well, I dumped the buckets in and on the last one I dumped the while 5 gal bucket into the thing it had a 3 gallon top that went onto a pipe then the 50 gallon drum


Well the drum was full.. 4-5 gallons went onto the floor of the shop..
Took me 5hrs to fully cleam up, went through 20 diapers, 10 gallons of containment pellets and half a drum of de-greaser. It was the worst mess at the shop since it opened in the 60's.... I quit a week later
