what does governors mean, meaning that there is no speed limiter but there is a rev limiter so what to do with that..

thanks

governer is another word for speed limiter.
which there isn't one as said above.

about the rev limiter.. you don't want to take it off.. you'll blow your motor up. where it's set at (7200RPM) ya don't probably even want to take your motor that high more then maybe once or twice.

i do undertand that is a risk if pass 7k but what i mean in future i want to redo bottom end and top end. If top end is done one then could go more than 7k right. I have seen some gst of course 4g63 engine reving 9k well they say. so i actually have heard

If not i read something before that you can install a a/t on an manual tranny to make 5 gear lower so can go faster top end more top end at more MPH or is it higher gears that do that....

thanks

ya if you rebuild the bottom and top end with all highperformance stuff, you could probably safely rev higher.. but you'd need either a new ECU or a standalone system to remove the rev limiter (i beleive, don't quote me on that).

actually, thats kinda wrong what you said....The reason why you cant rev past 7200 RPM's isnt because the bottom end isnt strong enough, its because the valves will float off the valve springs, and once they do, they will collide with the pistons, and well we know what happens from there....As far as making your redline higher, the key parts besides the computer control limit is getting some high quality lightweight valve train components, IE, titanium valve retainers, springs etc.

hey thanks man i really though it was rebuilding and that is it but i will keep in mind about the valves. I really think will be better performance if higher rev, becuase makes it kind of longer gears.

thanks

Our gears are already long (with a 5spd anyways). I can hit about 35-40 in first, 60 in second, 90 in third, 120 in fourth, and 5th will go to 147. I've only had mine up to 135 on the interstate (there were no cars around). It takes a lot to get past 120 because that's where the aerodynamics really come into play. I dont know if a stock engine could hit 147, it might not have the power to over come the drag.

I said top and bottom end, I know about the valves floating emoji
Another thing to consider is without some serious cams and head porting your car is gonna run out of breath (usable power) before 7200rpm anyway.

I know exactly what you mean, we should have 6 speeds.

With the right gearing it could be possible because they would be shorter gears.. but it wouldn't be very beneficial if we had about the same top speed.

6-speeds don't generally make a car have the ability to go faster. the main difference is your gears are closer and 1st is much lower then it would be on a 6speed. that and the 6th on most 6speed's isn't generally any higher of a ratio then the 5th on a 5-speed. Probably if it were any higher then your car wouldnt' be able to go as fast like the dude said above. plus.. who the hell needs to go faster then 147mph anyway!?!? hehe.

Well, if we had the money we could get a quaife 6spd tranny for our car. But thats about $15k... They would let you customize the gear ratios. You could also run tires with a higher overall height to kinda cheat to get a higher final drive ratio. But it all comes down to power & rpms. It doesnt matter one bit if you could spin the motor to 15,000 rpm, if it doesn't make enough power for the vehicle to overcome the aero drag at any given velocity.
