I've seen a few people's car pictures where the valve cover and overfill tanks are colored all cool and stuff but i can't find either one online anywhere. Are people just painting them? and if so, what kind of paint wouldn't burn off the valve cover?

You can use high temp engine paint or you can have it powder coated.
You can use 500-1500 degree engine paint from any auto parts store.
I plan on having a few at the end of this month that I will be getting finished and have for sale in the for sale area.

I think they are powder coating. Some may be using paint that is resistant to heat, like you would use on brake calipers. Someone named DSMTrance on the se.dsm.org site used to powder coat valve covers, or so they say.

The best thing to do is get it polished. I took my pieces to a harley shop and polished everything. Turbo, Valve covers and even the intake. Damn look mad sweeter then paint.

how did you do the polishing and the powdercoating on the same piece???...did it cost a lot to do?
