#31356, "Motor mount inserts are awesome"

After a grueling battle with tight bolts in hard to reach places, I successfuly installed my Energy Suspension motor mount inserts. Luckily I only came out with a few scratches. What a difference. Wheel hop is gone (as far as I can tell) and the car just responds better. Definitely worth the $28. Would have been alot easier if I had proper tools to use. I only get a little bit of vibration at idle and the engine seems to have a lower tone to it (sounds meaner)

What's the part # on your motor mount kit and which mount inserts did you get? Summit says 19.99 for both kit's they have. Just wondering if there for the turbo cars or ours.

and there are writeups for both the front and back..

http://seangordon1.tripod.com for the front

and do a lil search, "ourforthemselves" has a good writeup for the rear...

to get the bolt off that goes through the mount, use 2 wrenches, an open ended, and a socket, or two open ended wrenches...

good luck

hahah I wish I had airtools. I had to use alot of strength to get some of those bolts out. My main tools consisted of a small 3/8" drive ratchet, a 2 in. ext, a 6 in. extension, all the sockets I needed, and a 14 mm open end wrench. The front was easy.

oh man, I've had the inserts sitting on the shelf for about a week. Now I can't wait to put them in.

Just a hint. If you do get a compressor - don't go small. The small ones suck.

The AFX solid motor mounts are exactly that, solid mounts. They replace your existing mounts. The Energy Suspension inserts just fit into our existing mounts to stiffen them up.

OMG, i'm having sooooooo much trouble getting those balck bolts out, i got the pin out just fine, now the other ones are super difficult. i've done slashed a nice 2 in long cut into a finger, took out a chunk of my wrist and skinned a nuckle. damn... now it's raining...!
i hate my luck.... it wouldn't be so bad if i had tools that fit. the only good ratchet that i have is way too big to fit into that areal, if i use allot of extentions to get it where i can use a breaker bar, its too shakey and it just slips off the the bolts .....grrrrr,rrrrr,rrrrrr i'm about to give up on the rear mount
i did the front one in 30 minutes, and i've spent the last 2 hours trying to get those friggen bolts off the back one..... are there any tampa ppl that can give me a hand when it stops raining?? perhaps if u have air tools emoji i sure wish i did..... all well hoepfully i get it, i have to drive to work tomorrow so if i'm not done by night fall everything is going back together the way it is......
