Hey guys I just got me an AEM CAI and I wanted to know if I should get a by pass valve? I'm mostly concerned because i have a kombat bumper and the filter end is really exposed to the elements. Its stickin out where the hole is at. Should I be worried or am I just over reacting? Thanks for the help guyz!

Where do you live? I wouldent be worried i have had mine on for a year and have had no problems. Mine is also exposed to the elements, I live in the north east. Some people on here are have the bypass. I wouldent be worried unless you are going to drive through puddles that are a foot deep. From my personal experience when it rains my car runs better and feels faster. just my 2cents Jake

Agreed. Don't bother with the "ByPass". If your that anal, put a catch can on the bottom of your intake pipe(for the inlet on the catch), and call it done. I know Paulino(on ASOG) did this, and he said he never saw water it the thing.
I've been runnin for 5-6 months so far w/o it, without problems. Unless of course your going to drive your car through a lake, you'll be fine.

Kool..thanks for the 2cents guys. Well im from the bay area so there a few puddles here and there sometimes thats why! But as for the rain hitting the exposed filter, that wouldnt be a problem then roite? And is it kool to spray it wid a hose, because i was wonderin if i could still take it to a car wash or not!

Yeah, I wouldn't spray a whole lot of water on it otherwise you are going to have to let it dry. I had my AEM CAI on for about a year before I went turbo and never had a problem with it in the rain or at the car wash. I didn't have the bypass on it either.
