#30891, "2.4 engine on non turbo?"

did some try to swap the 2.0 engine with a 2.4 spyder engine?
can we change it with no problems, you know, does the motor mounts fits, on our engine bay.?
or can we change the head between the engines, to get a 2400ccc?
or I'm just dreaming.

Ps. a friend knows a person who crash his spyder, and he bought another front, with all engine parts, the old engine it's ok, in good shape, with the gear box, and everything, I was thinking to buy the head, to get more cc's, or the complete engine with the gearbox!

thank's

Could it be done? sure. It would be just about as much work as puting a 4G63 in. Mitsubishi motor vs. Chrysler motor, wiring harnasses completely diferent, computer etc. If you want larger displacement, go with a Howell Automotive stroker kit (2.2L) or a swap to the Chrysler 2.4L bottom end, this will require some wiring and motor mount modification. But don't swap to the Mitsu 2.4L, it's not worth it.

Hmm.. the Mitsu 4G64 (not the 4G63) is a a 2.4L SOHC motor that produces only 150hp. IMO it's not worth it unless you have a 4G63 powered car. Then you could use the BOTTOM END, not head, and uppen the displacment (from 2.0L to 2.4L).

If you want to change the heads, you would want to change the head from a N/A spyder to a 1G 4G63 DSM.
