I am having a problem with my transmission and I need to know how kuch work would be involved to try to fix it myself. The synchos are fucked up and i can't shift it in to 2nd gear above 4500 rpms with out grinding. Sometimes 2nd to 3rd is a problem but I know 1st to 2nd is really fucked. I can sometimes get it in to 2nd at higher rpms if I do some fucked up double clutching and rpm matching. I feel like I am dancing around on the fucking pedals trying to go clutch in, shift to neutral, clutch out then some gas then shift to 2nd then gas again then finally clutch out. It has taken some practice but I can do all that in about 1 to 2 seconds but I am getting tired of it. I want to shift normal again. What can I do and not spend a lot of money that I don't have? Any suggestions?

...and just for the record, the 1st and 2nd gears in our cars tend to go quick. I would suggest getting them replaced everytime the clutch is done. Also only downshift for extra power and not to slow down. There are a lot of people who do that. Use your brakes, upgrade them or don't drive as hard(yeah RIGHT!)

I tend to use 2nd to slow in to corners and stuff so I figured that is why they went bad. Is a tranny rebuild something that I could do myself or would it be too much trouble. I am pretty handy with cars and stuff like that. I have installed everything that I have on my car myself so I think I could do it but I don't know how hard a tranny really is.
