#30251, "Does anyone sell side motor mount inserts?"

I have the front and rear and I've seen the ones RRE has. They say that you have to burn the old ones out and replace them. I was wondering if there are inserts for the sides like the ones Summit sells for the front/rear.

Well i cant help you there, but i have heard by many, that they dont do a whole hell of a lot,but add much more vibration. Being we are front wheel drive, the motor wants to rock back and forth, and not much side to side anyway. Although I would like to know if any one has done the sides, that if it has made any improvement or what it really does.

I'll know soon enough. Both of my side mounts are cracked. So i bought some used ones from trwebb26, and i am going to fill them with windo weld.

Prothane makes a set of eight halves, one set for each mount. I hear they make the sucker vibrate like all hell.

i run the energy susp inserts on front/back, and have an old roller hockey wheel all cut up, and shoved into the side motor mount... i didnt wanna mess w/the tranny mount, didnt know if it wudda fell to the floor or not, hehe....

she vibrates a lot more than stock, but i installed all at the same time, so i dunno if there is a diff...

i do know that a fellow 2gntR was tryin to get together a group buy, or market a full motor mount insert set a lil while back... maybe check the announcements/for sale section, or search in those for motormounts...

good luck

RRE also mentions window weld.... might wanna try that

I was tring to get together a group buy for the prothane mounts, but there wasnt a whole lot of interest. Prothane sponsored a set of the fronts and sides for my car, and i like them. I kept breaking the back motor mount, and when i installed the 2 sides and one front, it was enough to eliminate the banging from the broken rear mount until i could fix it......

you can e-mail me at owner@xeropoint.com if you would like to order a set...
