#29960, "p/s belt keeps slipping off!"

about 3000 miles (2 months) ago i took my 95 gs (no mods) into the shop to get a valve job done. everything came back perfect and its running better than ever. about a month ago however, my p/s belt slipped off its track, and i noticed a small v-shaped notch cut out of it. i bought a new belt, installed it, and had no problems for about two weeks. then it slipped off again, but the belt looked fine. i figured it had just taken some time to "break-in", so i re-installed it. its been about a week since then, and it just slipped off again tonight! i am positive the belt is tight enough, and i imagine its had enough time to break-in, so what could be the problem? on a side note, i noticed a few days ago that the shop had fogotten to reconnect my p/s pressure switch wire, although i hadnt noticed any problems with it unplugged. could that relate to my current problem? thanks for any help! emoji

the pullies could be out of alignment, it happened to me and i was shredding belts left and rite (not just slipping them off, but shredding) and they replaced it under warantee. right now i don't have the belt on there b/c once again it has shredded, but i'm goign to wait for a udp (maybe) before i put it back on.

i had the same problem a few months ago, too. i shredded the first belt, but the second one i put on kept slipping. i turns out that i have chunks missing on the side of my crank pulley. check it out that may be your problem too.

I have huge chunks taken out of my crank pulley also, it's not the problem. They are just out of alignment, we had to beat the hell out of mine with a hammer to get it in alignment with the others, and it's worked great since then.

thanks for all the ideas!

i check all the pullies, and there doesnt seem to be any physical damage. im guessing they could be out of alignment, but i cant really tell by looking; they all seem to line up fine to me. is there any better way to check this? if it does turn out to be the problem, is there an easy (or hard) fix? thanks agai emoji
