my local place put on a high flow muffler, increased the pipe to 2 1/2 inches back to the stock cat. made a big difference. but i had then leave 1 of the 2 resonaters on there so cops wouldnt be pulling me over every other night.

are these very restrictive? should i have the 1 thats left pulled off? also, how much noise will be introduced if i do?

If you take out both resonators does that make it like really loud or sumthing? Is that why the cops would get you all the time?

You won't know what loud is until you remove the catalytic converter. It's a solid block of crap blocking your exhaust, designed to be very restrictive to the exhaust flow.

Resonators are very minimally restrictive. They are designed to suppress sound without really getting too much in the way of the exhaust flow.

I suppose if I was going to keep a catalytic converter on my car, I'd probably at least try to ditch the silencer. I'm pretty sure I'd like it but I don't know for you though - good sound is a personal opinion. You could cut it out and clamp in a "temporary" pipe to see how it sounds on your setup. That gives you the option to either weld it in if you like it or weld in your old silencer if it sounds stoopid.

the resonators are not that restrictive. They work by reflecting sound waves to cancel each other out, thus reducing the noise you hear. A straight pipe is better for flow (of course) but it's not something I'd worry about if you wanted to put a resonator in you exhaust.

quick question but when i got my muffler installed the muffler guy said that if i go with custom 2.5 in piping i can't put a cherrybomb glasspack resonatory? is this true?

I don't see what a glasspack can't be rigged up to fit with your exhaust, unless they only make them in certain diameters and the 2.5 inch exhaust is too big.

I hate it whent he local numnutz mechanic makes a statement about a car but doesn't explain why something can't be done
