Ok so i was racing my friends s10 extreme yesterday and i F**king lost my power steering belt again. But this tim eit had just flipped over inside out on the pulleys...

so since i put it on myself does this sounds like i did something wrong or is it just "luck"

I just wanted to know before i do it again myself

That EXACT same thing happened to me, and my belt was put on a long time ago. Weird. I also found I have a broken pulley on the ac compressor. Check that.

91 awd: 60-1, 880's, E-Prom, etc.
93 awd: JDM 6 bolt, K&N, full exhaust, Wally 255, otherwise stock.

S-10 Extreme? Please tell me you whipped him. I just got rid of one of those for my Eclipse and there's no comparison what-so-ever.

Didn't get a real race. Didn't realize we were racing so i had to try to catch up, but i pulled on him once i got on it so i think i woulda won if i had launched and not just went like i was driving regular.

I've had the same problem with mine ever since I changed the timing belt. The stock crank pulley was jacked up so I replaced it with the U/R pulley and it still threw the belt. I brought it to the dealership after like belt 5 or so and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I replaced the bearing inside the idler pulley below the power steering pump (part #301ss) and it hasn't thrown it since about a month. There didn't appear to be anything wrong with the original one, but I work at AutoZone and see idler pulleys make cars throw belts all the time. It only costs like 12 to 15 bucks, only thing that sucks is to replace the bearing you have to pull the idler and the bracket completely off the car because the bolt that holds the pulley on is too long to pull it out to remove the pulley.
