Hi. Couple ECU questions. First of all I have had a problem where my car shuts off. I know for a fact its shutting off because the ECU shuts off. Then sometimes I can't start it up because the ECU won't turn on. Finally if i sit there the ECU will kick on and finally the engine will start.

Ok well a few things.

The ECU is BURNING HOT after a while. Not like 10 hours or something, but a good half hour driving. When its gets this burning hot, its shutting on and off. SOmetimes the ECU kicks back in quick enough to catch the engine dieing and it doesnt quit. During this the radio and everythuing stay on, ecu isolated problem.

ALso I noticed with the car running in the garage, i tapped the ECU with a wrench and that was enough to shut it off and shut the engine off.

What do you all think? What causes it to get so hot, what are solutions. What could be loose in there. Help. Ack.
