#29390, "Maintenance ?- Jack and jackstands"

I'm going to finally stop being a lazy bastard and change my own oil, tranny fluid, etc. I just purchased a jack and some stands. The max height on the jack is about 13 inches and the stands somewhere between 10-16 inches. So I'm guessing I'll be getting the car about a foot off the ground. Is that enuff space for me to crawl under and work or is that too tight? Just wanna know before I get started. Thanks

just try it out first...

i roll up on sum 2x4s, and jack her up, then throw a stand under the x-member, and then get to a diff jack spot, and get her a lil higher...

she dont have to be way up in the air, just enough that u can get sum wrenchin done under her...

good luck

Yea, our cars are super easy...I don't even jack up the car anymore (yet I am stock height)

my oil filter tool fits there easily when i'm on the side of the car, and I can easily get a torque wrench to the drain bolt.

what kinda jack is this? Do your self a favor and if you work on your car a lot invest in a 3 ton jack emoji take a couple pumps to get my car up in the air and plop dem jack stands in there and your ready to get dirty emoji I used to have a weak ass 2 ton jack and that thing was scary workin with.

Oh yeah when you change your oil PLEASE hand tighten it, just crank that sucka with one hand as hard as you can. Some cars I have changed the oil in, the oil filter was rediculously tight.
